TT7300 FEATURES

Highest Efficiency
The efficiency of a UPS system has a direct influence on energy costs and the cooling required. With an efficiency of up to 97%, the Times Top sets new standards in the UPS sector. The new Times Top range efficiencies are quoted with the energy storage connected. This means that in all UPS Configurations the Times Top saves costs - day after day, year after year.

 Low Total Cost of Ownership
The Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) is a combination of the capital expense for the UPS, the electrical operating costs, the routine maintenance and overhaul. It is also dependant upon the required surrounding infrastructure which has to include switchgear, cabling, power factor correction and cooling needs together with building space costs and reduction in net useable space.
When properly addressed, the TT analysis will often show that there is a significant reduction in pay-back period if the right solution is adopted.

The Times Top guarantees lower operating and maintenance costs through:

Economic Power Management
The Number of active units in a parallel system is automatically adapted to the load.

  • UPS load for active units will increase
    • Efficiency will increase accordingly
  • Redundancy requirements are always considered
    • Failed units will be replaced immediately by spare units
  • Start/Stop logic levels out the operating hours
    • Unit with lowest operating hours is started when load increases
    • Unit with highest operating hours is stopped when load level falls
    • Regular change even with constant load

In a 2 MW Data Center with an installed UPS capacity of 5 x 500 kW (N+1 redundancy), and an actual load of 900 kW the savings are:

  • 2 of 5 units stopped by load control

  • UPS load for remaining units increased from 36% to 60%

  • Efficiency improved from 94.6% to 96.2%

  • Losses reduced by 16 kW

  • Yearly emission of 83 t CO2 avoided

    High active power
For the same nominal power the Times Top provides more active power (approx. 25%) than conventional UPS systems. This allows more loads to be connected.

    Total Design Flexibility
The same concept can be used to address low and medium voltage applications, cooling can be by air or chilled water, ride through storage can be batteries, flywheel or mixed. Can be independent, with standby generator or with cogeneration.
